Our Story

Having met at school, we moved to London to pursue our careers, Tom in publishing and Sara as a cheese buyer; but after a few years, and missing home too much, we returned back to North Yorkshire and settled here in the beautiful village of Marton on the edge of The North York Moors National Park.

We have two young sons, three dogs, an unhealthy interest in our garden as well as an obsession with food! It is our hope that our guests will feel relaxed and looked after, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and privacy.

Alongside our bed and breakfast, hosted from the Garden Room, Sara also offers outside catering, and is in the process of setting up a Dexter dairy herd from the family farm in Goathland - www.thefarmhouseyorkshire.co.uk.

The house is a beautiful Grade II listed Georgian property with a one acre garden and orchard for you to enjoy during your stay.
